Jakarta — Swiss-Belhotel International, a leading global hotel management group, has officially signed a Hotel Management Agreement recently, for the development and operation of Māua Olea Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel. The signing marked the group’s second Māua property in Bali, Indonesia. Scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026, the 5-star eco-luxury is poised to elevate the standard of refined hospitality in the heart of Ubud, Bali.

Māua Olea Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel offers an elegant sanctuary with eco-luxury Suites and Villas with private pools, a main swimming pool, Kōwhai restaurant, and The Pounamu Spa. It is only moments from Ubud’s cultural and tourist attractions, including Monkey Forest, the art market, and Saraswati Temple. Guests will enjoy the resort’s peaceful retreat while remaining close to the arts and cultural spots, such as artisan boutiques, art studios, and a vibrant culinary scene that defines Ubud’s distinctive charm.

“We are excited to collaborate with Swiss-Belhotel International for the development of Māua Olea Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel. We believe this partnership will bring our shared vision to life, creating an eco-luxury destination that reflects the essence of Ubud’s natural beauty and cultural soul, and with Swiss-Belhotel International’s expertise in delivering authentic hospitality experiences, will ensure the long-term success of this resort,” said Mr Rudy Suwandi, the owner of Māua Olea Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel.

Mr Gavin M. Faull, Chairman and President of Swiss-Belhotel International, commented, “Māua Olea Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel is designed as a sanctuary for rest, reflection, and refined living. We are thrilled to introduce the second Māua-branded property in Indonesia, following the success of Māua Nusa Penida by Swiss-Belhotel. This project reflects our deep commitment to creating destinations that blend sustainability, local culture, and luxury. Ubud’s serene natural environment and rich heritage make it the perfect home for Maua’s philosophy of eco-luxury conscious elegance.”

Each room and villa at Māua Olea Ubud by Swiss-Belhotel harmoniously combines contemporary design with the Balinese timeless beauty. The resort’s architecture emphasizes space, natural lighting, and ornaments—embracing natural materials such as cool stone and warm teakwood evokes a sense of tranquillity. Every element has been crafted to foster a deep connection between guests and nature, making the resort both a cultural haven and a luxurious escape.

Commenting on the signing, Mr Ilkin Ilyaszade, Senior Vice President of Operations and Development for Indonesia, stated, “Māua Olea Ubud is shaped by the evolving luxury traveller—one who values wellness, sustainability, and authentic connection to place. This development responds to global demand for refined experiences that balance comfort with purpose, aligning the Māua brand philosophy with Ubud’s cultural depth and natural beauty to deliver eco-luxury hospitality rooted in local identity.”

Māua by Swiss-Belhotel is a 5-star eco-luxury hospitality brand inspired by the ancestral wisdom of Māori culture, rooted in the values of whenua (respect for the land), mauri (life force), and kotahitanga (togetherness). Meaning “togetherness” in Te Reo Māori, Māua represents a philosophy of harmony between people and nature, guiding the brand’s approach to sustainable design, wellness-led experiences, and conscious luxury living. This ethos is symbolised by the andesite stone carving at the Faull family’s heritage farm in New Zealand, reflecting a deep, personal connection to the land and a commitment to preserving balance, authenticity, and meaningful human connection across every Māua destination.
