Gita Persada Butterfly Park was built in 1997 by Anshori Djausal and Herawati Soekardi to counter rare butterflies extinction. The park, since then has been successful in conserving more than 180 species of Sumatran butterflies. And this number also increasing every year along with the researches of butterfly food plants, micro-habitats and reproductions.
Gita Persada Butterfly Park is located on Jalan Griya Persada, Bandar Lampung. Besides as a tourist attraction in Lampung, Gita Persada Butterfly Park also become an education center and research place.
Gita Persada Butterfly Park is only 12 kms from Swiss-Belhotel Lampung and take 30 minutes driving by car via Jalan Way Rahman and Jalan Teuku Cik Ditiro.
