Mr. Jonas Illing
Regional Operations Executive

Swiss-Belhotel International has appointed Mr. Jonas Illing as Regional Operations Executive to be based at the Indonesia Regional Office in Jakarta, Indonesia. Mr. Illing is a German Citizen.

A graduate of Swiss Hotel Management School Lucerne, Switzerland with a Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management, Mr. Illing started his career in the hotel industry 20 years ago as an apprentice chef. Through hard work and dedication he worked his way up to become Assistant Front Office Manager and then Office Manager. In 2011, he was appointed Internal
Operations Manager for an international 5-star resort and spa in Tanzania.

In this position Mr. Illing managed all operating departments with an emphasis on both the Food & Beverage and Rooms Divisions. Directing a team of 20 managers and more than 200 staff members, he developed and implemented training programs, service procedures and cost saving initiatives, and standardised and perfected S.O.P.s. Very much in line with his early career, he worked closely with the Executive Chef on menu engineering, kitchen staffing and food costs. He also directed the planning and management of all corporate and social functions and liaised with sales and marketing.

Fluent in German, French and English, Mr. Illing has worked at hotels and resorts in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, the USA, Thailand and Tanzania, giving him broad experience in working with hotel colleagues and guests from a variety of different cultures. Mr. Illing describes himself as, “A very emphatic and congenial person who loves to deal with the
unexpected and can adjust to different and difficult situations easily. I love to serve; a guest with a smile on his face makes me happy and inspires me to work with passion.”
