During his opening presentation, as an inspiration to all General Managers, Mr. Faull introduced the New Zealand philosophy of Haka to all the General Managers. Mr. Faull explained to an enthusiastic audience that Haka represents challenge, inspiration, focus, determination and teamwork. It is a valuable philosophy that should be conducted by General Managers during their morning briefing, as their daily challenge to themselves and their team. This is to ensure that they will not only lead, but challenge their team. “The New Zealand rugby team performs a Haka before a match. It inspires them, pulls them closer as a team and raises their courage in facing the challenge ahead,” Mr. Faull explained. “This year's General Managers' Conference has been an exciting and fruitful event and the ideas and suggestions that have been put forward during these past few days will contribute to the further strengthening of our market position based on our philosophy of “Passion and Professionalism. We all particularly enjoyed the lighter moments of the conference, particularly the Award Ceremony, which gives recognition to the achievements of hotels and individuals.” commented Mr. Faull. “Although every General Managers’ Conference is a huge success, this 10th Conference was a booming success for Swiss-Belhotel International and a great success for all its participants. Tremendous developments will come from this conference, and 2012 will most definitely be a year of growth and development,” he added.
