Batam Island is also accessible via sea from Singapore. Ferries ply between Singapore and Batam several times a day from Singapore's World Trade Centre or Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

It takes approximately 25 minutes to an hour to travel from Batam to Batu Ampar, Nongsapura, Sekupang or Waterfront City.
