Located in the Bukit Barisan Mountains, it occupies a total area of 1,484,650 hectares. The park is home to a great variety of animals species, such as elephants, Sumatran tigers, Sumatran rhino, tapirs, panthers, deer, wild goats, primates, crocodiles, birds and reptiles.
